Computer speaker system debate? help?

I currently have a Altec Lansing VS4121 2.1 system, and am thinking of getting a 5.1 Logitech system,the 5300 series. I listen to metal,rock,some rap,b testers etc...would you go with Altec lansing's 2.1, or Logitech's 5.1?
