Mars Venus ascending help!?

I'm not new to horoscopes but I'm extremely new to this Mars and Venus thing... I found out my mars is in Taurus and my Venus is in Gemini. I have no clue what the prevalence of this is, or why or how this is. I've heard something about ascending horoscopes and horoscopes in houses as well I would like to know what all these mean and how I can find mine. My birthday is June 16 1992. Any help?
