Diabetes and swine flu?

if i have diabetes and caught the swine flu i now i would be more likely to get severe complications? but if i got the swine flu shot does that prevent me from getting severe complications from the swine flu? i got the shot so if i were tio catch swine flu would i be ok dosenrt the shot prevent bad complications? please help
