How far will Mitt Romney go in the 2012 GOP primary?

"Just some Guy" said it a little differently from how I would, but Romney's religion is very problematic for a lot of people. Mormonism is NOT Christianity; it's a fringe religion with enough quirks and problems to make people wary, no matter how good a candidate Romney may otherwise be.
